On June 19th, we celebrate the 159th Anniversary of the end of slavery in 1865 in the United States, which is known today as Juneteenth. It is a combination of the month of 'June' and the 'nineteenth' day that commemorates the happy news of newly-freed slaves in Texas at the end of the Civil War.

The Robert Waters School STEM program was recently awarded one of the 2024 NLGA Lt. Governors' STEM Scholarships. Robert Waters School was one of eight schools across the country to be awarded $1,000. Taught by Mrs. Amanda Muti-Marconi, the STEM program will be using the scholarship to purchase drones and drone-related materials and equipment for the school.
